In the battle between logic and emotion, emotion always wins out. "To steer your mind on the right track, it's necessary to learn how to dialogue with it and make it your best friend and loyal ally." So"states Marisa Peer an internationally acclaimed teacher and hypnotherapist. The key to handling a subversive unconscious mind (think of it as the gatekeeper who tries to protect you but often for all the wrong reasons) taking over is to tell it how you want to feel. A way to do this is to practice using some affirmations. As an example, you might say, I want this, I've chosen this. When it's repeated over and over again, you'll you'll find you are on the right track. One of the cardinal rules of the mind is that it learns by repetition and changing the way we think, act and feel is possible. We can literally change our brain in the process and that is the definition of NEUROPLASTICITY.
Advances in neuro-science do show that the brain adapts from childhood and that it's not fixed. It has the components of plastic which means it's easily shaped and molded. Thoughts, feelings and actions created over and over again create pathways or aloop, create pathways in the neurological system.
By changing your thinking and the way you feel about something you can create new , life affirming pathways in the brain causing the old pathways to weaken and/or disappear.
